Are you a completely last minute gift buyer?
Do you have the best intentions every time and still end up waiting till the last minute to find something, or worse, let it go by and then have to apologize afterwards?
Or perhaps you are just so inundated with the idea of trying to figure out what to buy you send yourself spiraling into procrastination and run out of time.
Well you are not alone if you answered yes to any of these, my partner is there with you. In fact I am not sure why I just haven’t taken over the gift buying, wrapping and giving portion of this relationship altogether. Might just be easier than reminding, hmmmm…
Despite his best intentions and thoughtfulness, the gift buying, shipping on time, etc thing is just not his forte. I find happiness in finding the perfect gift for someone, wrapping it nicely and getting it to them. I tend to take over when time starts running short. (That is if I don’t buy it so far in advance I forget where my “safe place” is and fail to give it due to my lapse of memory, sorry Mom!)
So here’s an inexpensive last minute gift idea. If you can, go with cookies. We purchased a dozen cookies from our local bakery today ($14.50) for a dad who lives out of town. He is one of those who already has everything and is rather hard to buy for. If you don’t have time to bake something yourself or if that just isn’t your thing, we highly recommnd finding good bakery and buying from them. Not only are supporting a local business but the gift will taste much better for your efforts, than something purchased from a chain store. Today we chose Oatmeal Raisin and Cinnamon Oatmeal Cranberry, because they ship well even in the heat of summer and will not melt.
Even though this gift isn’t homemade , expensive or glamorous, we know it is still a thoughful one because we took the time to get him something that he likes, is heathly (our bakery is organic) and we presented it as something special even though it is a simple gift.
Going one step further we chose to wrap the gift up nicely and added some pizzaz to the bakery box they cookies came in. We chose to use some more masculine trimmings with kraft paper, rope, and vintage styled travel stickers. All of these items were leftover from previous crafting projects which makes them a great find and inexpensive.
We hope this helps inspire your own inexpensive last minute gift idea!
Speaking of which, did you get your Dad something yet????
